The average 2 week paycheck is 80 hours. I can flawlessly stay up for 48 hours at a time, in fact i enjoy doing so and have actually seen increases in efficiency when doing so. Here's my plan:
Work 48 hours, sleep 12, work 48. That's 96 hours of work in 4.5 days, (.5 being the 12 hours of sleep, stay with me) giving you 9.5 days more until your at 14 (two weeks). Doing this, you accomplish 16 hours more work during a two week period than most people, you have an ENTIRE WEEK open for freetime that you can easily schedule things to do with friends and families because your open all day for 9 days. This would result in high morale. And a decrease of days taken off for personal reasons, as every month you get a 2 week vacation.
Now, if this schedule was flexible, (as of course it likely would be as it would more than likely be something a worker devised to use themselves with an employers concent) you could even switch things up a bit. For instance, say that all the sudden you find out that you have a wedding to attend two weeks later, ok, so what, instead of working that week, work the one before it where you would normally be resting, switch your on week and your off week around at will.
And, to adress the possible health problems involved in this type of sleep schedule: It's all about conditioning, your body will adapt to what you do slowly until it works itself into the sleep schedule and opperates sucessfully in that schedule, so health risks (increased chances of getting a cold ect) would only be present for the short term until your body readjusted to the new pattern of sleep.
Not everyone is fit for such an intense amount of time awake, but for those that are able to stay up long periods with no noticable side effects, this discovery is monumental.
